Nowadays the knowledge about natural sciences is part of our daily life, for instance, in chemistry; which is my subject matter, food, fuel, biotechnology, ecology, etc are typical topics to deal with. consequently it is important to have a background that let our students to take a realistic and scientific position about their environment.

Matemáticas es una área fundamental para la enseñanza de la Educación Básica Secundaria y la Media, por eso se pretende que el educando se apropie de los conceptos básicos para que los apliquen en las competencias como un saber hacer en contexto. Lo mismo se pretende con el área de Física, llevar los fenómenos físicos teóricos, mostrarlos en un entorno cotidiano, aplicando las competencias.

MATEMÁTICAS
El objetivo fundamental de las matemáticas es contribuir a la comprensión de las estructuras esenciales y desarrollo de habilidades y destrezas pertinentes para la mejor utilización en las diversas situaciones de la vida y trasegar de la existencia humana. Las matemáticas no sólo es una respuesta a problemas de la vida práctica, sino que favorece el desarrollo del razonamiento y su capacidad de análisis y síntisis.
Las matemáticas no sólo pueden referirse al número y la cantidad, si no a la forma de expresar matemáticamente la realidad circundante; esto implica, desde luego, una nueva forma de pensar
Ante el avance inusitado de la ciencia, técnica, tecnología e informática es indispensable propiciar cambios didácticos y pedagógicos que contribuyan a una enseñanza más práctica y dinámica.
Finalmente como reflexión: ¿Está usted o estoy yo a la vera del camino?.

our school, Instituto Santuario, is one of the two public schools in our town Santuario. Our institution chose an academical emphasis on English language after studying all the necessities, opportunities and available resources in the surrounding. The goal is that every teacher supports English learning from their subject matter according to their own capacity, but of course the English teachers Fernando Riascos and Teresita Hurtado carry the biggest responsibility in this purpose .
The students are considered the most valuable material, then the teachers, coordinators and the principal, and finally the didactic and technological material that we use at school. To get the mentioned goal, the teachers use a communicative approach in the classroom. which consists of giving more importance to the messages that can be negotiated than grammatical or syntactic aspects of the language. The series English in Mind by Cambridge University Press is the material that serves the teachers as content guide to lead the learners in achieving the highest standards in English.
In 2007 our students got very good scores in the ICFES examinations, which are designed as requirement to go into University. Our school was positioned as SUPERIOR with two other schools in Risaralda. It is important to say that our students got the highest scores in English, which gives us teachers the motivation and commitment to keep on doing our best at the mentioned purpose.
We are very interested in improving our job that is why the teachers have been involved in English training courses and updating courses, for example the teacher Hurtado participated in an >immersion course in San Andrés Islands called “ Living in English”. The teacher Riascos on the other hand, participated in a training course and got a certification called ICELT by University of Cambridge.
Of course the teachers are applying what they have learned and are expecting for more chances of training and of course more competent language users. The goal according to the Common European Framework is to have B 1 students when they got eleventh grade. Nowadays we have some students who really enjoy learning English and are able to use the language in daily situations with few limitations of grammar and vocabulary and most of the learners understand and follow in class instructions that are given in English most of the times.
Of course we are ready to hear and discuss opinions about what we do in class as English teachers even me, Fernando Riascos, (fernandoriascos@yahoo.es), the writer of this comment, am ready to hear suggestions to make it a more accurate and precise piece of writing.

La Educación Física hace referencia al estudio de las capacidades motrices en edades escolares, cuyo objetivo primordial es desarrollar al estudiante de manera integral.
El deporte es la lucha de la mente y el cuerpo por medios físicos que generalmente son sometidos a un reglamento y es de forma competitiva.
Estos aspectos y aún otros se trabajan de manera contínua y constante en nuestro colegio, INSTTITUTO SANTUARIO.

ESPAÑOL
La enseñanza del lenguaje en la Educación Media debe enfocarse en las cuatro habilidades comunicativas: Hablar,escuchar, leer e escribir; partiendo de éstas, se desarrollan los diferentes procesos escritos, orales y lectores.
Es fundamental la enseñanza de la literatura como fuente de recreación y conocimiento, tratando de hacerlo, no tanto de manera impositiva, sino motivando y generando en los estudiantes cariño y apego por ella.

El área de Educación Artística es fundamental en el desarrollo integral del ser humano; se trabajan valores estéticos a partir de estrategias de sensibilidad, expresión y creatividad, desde el dibujo, la pintura, el que hacer plástico y en ellos diversas técnicas contribuyendo a mejorar la calidad del proceso Educativo y brindando a la sociedad seres competentes.

Fecha de ingreso 03/03/79.
Empecé en el año 79 dictando Nociones De Agropecuaria y luego fui ganando espacios en el área de ciencias, asignatura en la que mejor me he desempeñado.
Ahora tengo carga completa del grado 6° a 9° en Ciencias Naturales y Biología. Para mi las ciencias Naturales y la Educación Ambiental debian transversalizar todo el currículo, es decir, deberían ser el eje articulador de la ecucación actual.
No es posible imaginar el futuro de la humanidad sin unos ciudadanos comprometidos con el medio ambiente.
En lo personal siempre he estado muy cerca de mis alumnos, aunque a veces pasan por mi lado y no recuerdo sus nombres.
Es de esperarse son ya casi 30 promociones en mis archivos, me gusta lo que hago.
Quiero mi pueblo, mi colegio y estoy seguro de que mi labor ha sido bien vista por mis estudiantes; a quienes envío un abrazo " rompecostillas" y un pensamiento positivo.
A mis fans un besote grande.

Probablemente ahora te estés preguntando ¿ Porqué vale la pena estudiar Historia? simplemente, podríamos decir como el historiador francés LUCIEN FEBVRE.
" Me gusta la Historia" y ese es un motivo suficiente para estudiarla. Sin embargo, hay muchas otras razones que hacen que el estudio de Historia, tan importante dentro de las Ciencias Sociales, sea fundamental en nuestra formación como personas.
